New single Rise, a P.I.L. cover OUT NOW

Rise premiered in the UK on RHR’s Dark Heart of Camden and has been garnering airplay up and down the east coast of Australia.

RRR's Music Coordinator and announcer, Simon Winkler called it "an excellent and distinctive reworking".

Sydney's Metal Postcard also featured it stating, "McCubbin gives this PIL classic a new lease of life with an M. Ward almost Low anthem take on the song. Wonderful indeed".

Recording his vocals, guitar, piano, and various synths and beats in his studio during Melbourne’s 1st lockdown, McCubbin then enlisted the likes of John Phillips (Not Drowning Waving / My Friend the Chocolate Cake) Philippa Nihill (Underground Lovers), Richard Andrew (Underground Lovers), Julitha Ryan (Mick Harvey), Andy Pap (Superstitions / HopeAddicts), Lisa Gibbs (USER, The Moth Body), Malcolm Hill, Lisa Wood and Melinda Kay to sing along in their home studios, thus forming a beautiful choir. It really does make the track Rise.
